Josh Marcham Earns First Feature Win of the Season
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK - Josh Marcham led all 20 laps to win his first A feature event of the season after earning the pole in the nonwing event at I44 Riverside Speedway on April 9.
Drawing dead last for starting position, Josh drove quickly from the back row to 3rd place on the first lap of his heat race. He then meticulously drew in the second place car, eventually passing it to earn enough passing points to start on the pole of the feature.
During the feature, Josh took an early lead, working the bottom of the track, but yellow flags bunched up the field. As the second place car explored the middle line, pulling close to passing, Josh adjusted, moving up to the middle where the car hooked up, keeping Marcham's lead intact.
After his USAC West Coast Sprint event at Tulare was rained out, brother Trey Marcham served as crew chief for the win. The boys made a good team, resulting the in the season's first win.
Trey Marcham's next race will be in the USAC West Coast Sprint series at Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, California, and look for Josh Marcham at the Blue Blast for Autism Awareness race at I44 Riverside Speedway, both on April 23.
