FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Marcham Concludes Weekend with a Dominant Win

Trey Marcham concluded a weekend of National Open Wheel 600cc Micro Sprint racing with a dominant win in the Non-Wing division at the Blue River Classic held at I44 Riverside Speedway in Oklahoma City. Marcham started on the outside pole and lead every lap of the 20 lap A feature race Saturday night at his home track where he has won six championship honors throughout his career.

The weekend began Friday night with the NOW600 held at Creek County Speedway where Marcham won his A-class heat race, finished 4th in the A-Class A feature, and raced to a 2nd place finish in the Non-wing A feature. “The track was really heavy all night and we were a little off in the gearing” said Marcham, “but all in all we finished pretty well.”

The weekend continued at the Blue River Classic at I44 Riverside Speedway where crowds were encouraged by the track promoter to "don their best Saturday night blues as we race to raise autism awareness.” Marcham swept both his Non-Wing and A-Class heats, placing him in a redraw that selected him to start 6th in the A-Class A feature and outside pole in the Non-Wing A feature. In the A-Class race, Marcham was able to move up to 2nd in the 20 lap race.

For the Non-wing A feature, Marcham took an early lead and survived two red flag wrecks that happened behind him during the course of the race. “It seems only fitting that the Blue Tornado would cross the finish line first at the Blue River Classic to raise autism awareness, and we are honored to be able to bring home the win,” said Marcham.

Marcham's next race will be a Midget race with Bryan Clausen Racing at Illinois’ Montpelier Speedway April 19, and he will follow that with a USAC Western Midgets race with Josh Ford Motorsports at California’s Bakersfield Speedway on May 3. Marcham is currently 3rd in points in the USAC Western Midgets points race.

Marcham, a senior Engineering student at Oklahoma University, with over 12 years of experience in Micro Sprints, Midgets, and asphalt Late Models, recently collected the 2013 USAC-Western States Midget Rookie-of-the-Year honor as well Top 10 finishes in the USAC-WS Dirt and overall standings in the 2013 USAC Western States division. Marcham has amassed six Championships at I-44 Riverside Speedway in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, as well as a BCRA win at Petaluma Speedway and back-to-back late model wins at Myrtle Beach Speedway in 2013.
